On My Own

So, here I am at school. I just got settled and I've finished registering for classes. I must say that all in all it wasn't that heinous of an experience. I thought it was going to be a lot more work than it was. Everyone that I worked with was nice, and I had to wait in line for a little bit, but no more than I was used to and everyone was really nice about the whole thing. So I guess that I'm pretty lucky. The only bad part is that I'm not going to be able to get the card that will let me in my dorm. It kind of sucks because the system is down and they don't know when it'll be back up, which really sucks. Anyway, so I'm doing this from the library and as soon as I get everything up and running, I'll be posting like normal again. So, thanks for sticking with me, and see you soon!

Going to the Country, Gonna Eat Me a lot of Peaches. Pt. 2

Still getting ready to go to school, I've bee really busy, but some thoughts I had were:

-I wish we had a president who cared more about what was best for our country, instead of getting reelected.

There were some more, but I can think of any. I try later.

Vote For Change!

The Dixie Chicks, along with lots of other bands, and individual artists are going to be doing a Vote for Change Tour. It's really just a tour that will get people hyped to not vote for Bush. Of course I'm all for it, because I love the Chicks and I can't stand Bush, but I'm just wondering what the country music scene will think about all this. The reason that I think that the Chicks rock so much is because of the uniqueness of thier music and the talent with which they handle their instruments. Their music introduced me to country music, and if they alienate the country fans then they won't have a reason to play country anymore. If they stop playing country then their whole style will change, and I don't know what that'll do to the sound. Anyway, I'll stick with them through thick and thin. I just hope everything works out okay.

Beckett Finn Pasdar Welcome to Our Crazy Mixed Up World!

From the Dixie Chicks Official Website:

"Natalie, hubby Adrian Pasdar and big brother Slade, age 3, are proud to announce the latest addition to their family. Beckett Finn Pasdar arrived on July 14th, weighing 7lbs, 7oz. Mother and baby are doing fine."

I'm a little late, but I just want to say congrats to Natalie and Adrian!

P.S. The Village did suck!

This is the message that I sent back to the person I mentioned previously in the post. You can see that it's very not judgmental. We're in a band, by the way, which might explain stuff in this letter, and in the previous one. They have practice 'every' Tuesday and Thursday, and apparently, I'm the one being left behind. In the band I mean, but back to the point:

"Firstly, no The Village really did suck. Secondly, I didn't "drop off" and I'm not playing the victim. I'm sick of being the loser who has to call you 14 times a week when I want to talk to you. Why should I have to call you 14 times a week to talk to you? That's not right. Anyway, if you want to talk, you know my number. You told me to call when I can do something, and that's what I'm doing. I'm calling you when I can do something. Anyway, for taping, I can bring whatever, foodwise. I've been really busy trying to get into school and everything, so, I'll be there, but I won't be able to do that much stuff with you guys right now, anyway. I've been busy and I don't suspect that your plans need my consent or anything anyway. I will be sending you a list of stuff that I want to talk about. I have two Geekdoms and I have a sexy man update. I am also going to need the camera for the Borg thing. By the way, I've can still update the web page fine, as I have been doing. I don't have to have Frontpage to put the pics on, but it's working now anyway, so I can do it."

At the end of the other e-mail, something was mentioned about the web page, which explains the comment about Frontpage. I left that part out because I didn't feel it was relevant to the e-mails.

Lacksadaisical Ineptitude

This is an actual email that I recieved from a friend of mine. I seriously, seriously have no idea what she is talking about. Seriously. To read it, a person would think that I'm some mover and a shaker who can make people feel guilty about themselves. No, not really. I just wanted to share this with you.

"And as far as practice...just call when you CAN come. We are going to continue to have practice, and we will update you on the schedule; and don't feel as if someone is not including you or that you feel left out, we really have to go on without you. It's not fair for the rest of us to sit and wait on you, and then you don't show up. So don't aim to make us feel guilty, because we don't anymore. We use to feel like shit, and we would try and compromise an appropriate time with you. It's not working, and hasn't worked before. And don't act like a victim and try to avoid us. You usually call at least 14 times a week, now you "drop off," without a trace. You not being committed is a minor problem that shouldn't effect our friendships. Believe me when I say that I am not trying to attack you. And if our phone worked I would call and tell you this, b/c an email is not appropriate. I love you Terri, and I can't wait until you are able to live like a 21-year-old college student.

"...why do I always have to play the mean one; I'm actually a saint!"

"I'll see ya next time."~ Levar Burton"

I left out the name to protect the innocent. I use that term loosely, but I, again, digress. I will post the one that I sent this person back. I wrote it before I had actually read the post, and had just scanned it. If I had written this person back after fully reading the above mentioned e-mail, it would not have been as polite and/or profanity free. Do not judge me!

Going To The Country, Goin' Eat Me Alot of Peaches

Going to school. Winston-Salem State Univ. I really excited. It's just a transitional school on the way to Western Carolina University. I'm really excited though. I can't wait. So anyway, I'm doing different things, trying to get all my stuff together, and my whole existence is trying to get on track. So now, I'm just trying to do everything that I wanted to do but couldn't. I think I'll call Lauren.
